Best GPK cards and boxes
The priciest card we found in each release from 1985 to now, plus which boxes we'd keep or open. Prices are from PriceCharting, checked November 1, 2026.
Read this first. Many top prices rest on very few sales, so check eBay's Sold Items filter before you buy. A rare version can cost thousands while the regular card with the same name costs a few dollars, so match the exact version. The Keep and Open labels are our opinion, not financial advice. We haven't worked out the odds for any box, and most boxes are worth less once opened.
How to tell what you're looking at
- Check the copyright line. Original Series 1 and 2 say © 1985. Chrome and Flashback reuse the old art, and a 2014 Chrome wrapper even says “1985 Original Series 2.”
- Learn the rare versions. Glossy on Series 1 and 2; die-cuts on late originals; Superfractors, printing plates and autographs on modern cards.
- Condition is the price. A PSA 10 can sell for many times an ungraded copy, so look at corners, edges, centering and the back.
